Also see more doodle days:
We started to plan for a Caitlin Gathering last August on our way back from Porlock. The goal was to invite our owners and their dogs to a day of fun----no beauty pagaent or competitions just good doggy fun with lots of chat for the owners. Well----everything went to plan except for the weather which was horrid, but doodle folk are hardy and great fun was had by all regardless of the rain and mud.
I am sure that no prospective buyers will be impressed with the photos of wet, muddy dogs and pups, but those that were able to share the day with us know that it was doggy paradise.
Thank you all for making it such a memorable day.
Aren't they all wonderful?
This is Maki who was born to our Poppy in 02. I think she was the oldest doodle at the do and it was the first time I have seen her since she was eight weeks old---a real treat for me.
Dreams of sunshiny picnics were out---I think these dogs had not met the mud yet!
Our little treasure Bear --looking for a handout.
All the dogs and pups arrived looking lovely.
This is Molly after a good romp.
Molly after a well earned bath! Gorgeous.
This is Eddie who lives with his dad Clifford
Aiden with Gem--mud on trousers was the fashion of the day.
Monty's family.
Elsa having a rest with her "girls" Hannah and Lauren.
Simon and Amanda with Pip---definately our most cheerful owners!
Happiness is...........
What a clever girl Lulu is!
Bear had been running about the field since early morning and finally just crashed
Three happy pups!
Jan and Maizie cheering on Flash.
I think this is Monty who arrived looking lovely and white!
I was delighted that John was able to share in the day. His dog Flynn was not in this photo.
It was fun for me to see how much the children who have our dogs have grown---this is Logan who owns Rio
Peter with Shadow.
The Lawson family with Alfie.
Flynn and Indy with their second biggest fan!
This is the only photo I have of Kevin(move over Cesar). Kevin and Debbie were the stars of the day and guided the dogs and pups over the agility equipment, answered endless queries and hopefully sparked interest to seek out clubs where the dogs can continue having challenges and fun.
Like Bear---most of the pups had never been so dirty in their life!
Joanna and Rob with Holly
Gus looking handsome.
Lauren and JC with Elsa.
Who's a clever girl---Rosemary with her Sheltie.
Odie with Alexandra and Leanna.
Fiona/Dermot with Flynn and Indy and Jez with son Jacob
Here's the daddy of most of the pups at the do---Sir Clifford with his best mate Madelaine.
The Grey family with Gilligan.
Jean/Buzz/Ted and Gem with Aidan.
Tim,JC,Kim and Karen with Lulu---looking far too clean.
The Lovering family with Nell.
Our daughter Lindsey and son Ian serving lunch---stars!
Members of the Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team gave a demonstration of how they train dogs to be part of the team. No doodles have ever trained for this job,but I am sure with the right trainer there would be some who would do very well and love the challenge
Stephen,Lynne and Abigail lilly with Buster and Sally---Lynne is hoping to have a third doodle in the next couple of years.
This is Jenny with Gus and on the far rt is Fifi whom we bred and in the middle is George---their son----a real treat to see them together.
Not the most flattering photo of Hannah and Lauren, but wanted to include it---many will remember these girls as the ones who use to come and play with the litters----naming each pup and generally helping to socialize them. They were great helpers on the day and I think enjoyed seeing some of their past favourites all grown up.
I think this is Lulu looking like an expert.
Many hands make light work
For some---the rain just made things better!
Tim with Maizie--must have been the start of the day!
Madelaine with Clifford who chased balls for hours---finally looking a bit tired.
I'm sorry not to have a full photo of Linda and Mike. Linda demonstrated different ways of keeping your dog stimulated with search games. She and Mike have welcomed two doodles into their lives that needed rehoming. I am sure when Mike hears my voice on the phone he is tempted to hang up! Here they are with Caleb,Dylan and Rik.
Maizie looking very pretty.
Smiles seemed to be the order of the day.
My daughter Lindsey sitting on hay bale---the best daughter and best organizer!
Janine, Sam ,Jez and Dermot. Not sure what order the dogs are in,but they will be Oscar,Flynn and Indy---they are all so similar--- even can fool a mother's eye!
Clever Elsa---but far too late for an umbrella to be useful!
